Confit

February 16th 2018

Today we went out for a belated Valentine’s datenight. Considering the actual day fell midweek, I positioned the Friday night dinner as a more convenient, more romantic time for us to have our Valentine’s meal. In reality, our favourite restaurant was fully booked on Wednesday because I left it too late to reserve a table. She won’t read this, so please nobody tell Alice that.

I think my logic is sound, though. Friday night is a much better time for a date night.

WhatsApp Image 2018-02-16 at 22.11.56.jpegGoing out for dinner is our favourite thing to do. It’s weird considering we live together, see each other all the time and eat dinner together every day, but it feels like a date night dinner gives us a proper opportunity to talk and be together.

Plus, we loves the foods.

The restaurant we went to changes their menu every day, so every time we go there there’s different options to choose from. That’s good, because you’re guaranteed the same quality, but with added variety. Tonight though, we were a bit annoyed that our favourite Charcuterie board wasn’t on the menu, but that’s kind of the gamble you take.

Alice had a pie, and I had duck confit cassoulet, and we sat and ate and talked and laughed and loved.

Until tomorrow, it was my favourite type of evening, at my favourite type of place, with my favourite person.
