Hibernate

November 8th 2017

Today I alternated between laying in bed and laying on the sofa. I took the day off work to try and rid myself of this cold that’s inhibited and inhabited me for the past few days. It stopped me from sleeping last night because I was up all night coughing. For related reasons, it stopped Alice from sleeping last night because I was up all night coughing.

When she went to work this morning I stayed in bed trying to sleep, but then I got really claustrophobic so I went downstairs to sleep on the sofa, but after a while that made me feel claustrophobic so I went back upstairs to bed, until I went back downstairs again.

You’d think a day off work lying in bed would be great fun, but I just felt really restless. 9-5 is a long time to be led around doing nothing. On the plus side, between naps I managed to finish two Netflix programs that I’ve had in my queue for a while.

Post-lunchtime I settled down primarily on the sofa. We’ve got a recliner sofa and two blankets, so it was life being in bed, but made me feel slightly less like a caterpillar in hibernation. Wait, no, caterpillars don’t hibernate. Is that what it’s called when they turn into butterflies? It can’t be. Bear’s hibernate… but what do caterpillars do? That thing… you know… (I googled it. The answer is ‘pupate’ apparently)

This has gone very off topic. Where was I?

Yeah, so I just lounged around watching Netflix and sneezing until my nose literally started bleeding. That was a fun five minutes. I thought it was just, y’know, snot, until a crimson droplet splashed onto my tshirt. That’s probably too much information.

Until tomorrow, I think I’m better now.
