Today, at 00:03, in the early hours of this morning, my Nan died peacefully in her sleep after a battle with cancer.
She was, and will continue to be, one of the most wonderfully kind and intelligent women I have ever known.
She fought her illness with dignity, with grace, and with unbelievable strength. Throughout it all she never lost her quick wit, or sharp tongue. She continued to make us laugh, and cared more about us than she ever did herself. She was still the same wonderful lady she had always been.
She told me before her cancer treatment began that she would take whatever drugs they gave her, sit through any treatment, and fight it. And that’s what she did. Right until the very end.
Until tomorrow, and until forever, I will miss her very much.
